Pure Genius - Party Band - Wedding Reception Band

The members of Northampton band Pure Genius have been together in various forms for over twelve years, originally starting life as 'Free Beer', a three piece pub band formed on the spot by founder members Greg and Floyd in an effort to obtain some drinks. Although not at all serious, this project was exciting enough to inspire Greg and Floyd to stay in contact and jam together from time to time, particularly around Christmas when their jams became legendary in and around their home village of Weedon.

Floyd spread his musical wings by joining party band Streetwyze, with whom he joined up with current Pure Genius guitarist Mark, formerly of Northampton band Warehouse. Floyd hatched a new musical plan. Hooking up with Greg, Mark and Steve, a quality bass player from Northampton, the first incarnation of Pure Genius was born and quickly began to build a strong reputation as a wedding party band with the ability to play special requests and fly by the seat of their pants musically.

The bass player position welcomed Conway a year later, only to be followed by Heath, another former member of Streetwyze. Pure Genius were also joined around this time by Steve, a young, exciting sax player who really put the icing on the musical cake. Now Pure Genius were playing increasingly prestigious events and venues, and cemented their reputation as the busiest and most accomplished wedding party band in Northamptonshire. Steve left for the Leeds College of Music and was replaced by Tom, a Trinity graduate who took to the Northampton band like a duck to water.

After a short stay on the sax, Tom left for France and Steve returned to Pure Genius. Heath then left for Spain and the Northampton band welcomed Nick on bass, another Leeds graduate to complete the current Pure Genius line up. Now fully professional, Pure Genius are without doubt the most accomplished wedding reception band and party band in Northamptonshire and beyond.
